Welcome!!

To our Media Writing Skills students, a BIG hello to all of you! I am sure all of you are wondering why Ms Lina and I decided to go blog style for this subject. Well, nowadays most of us depend on online news sources and blogs to retrieve information, and New Media has become a norm in our lives today. Going with the flow of the moment, we decided that all of your assignments and features should be posted up in your individual blogs, making it easier and more convenient for you (and us, definitely!). Before you guys start, I suggest you have a read of our ground rules. All rules posted will be adhered to STRICTLY, and leniency is not a question (or answer) in this matter. Nothing great, just the same old ones:


• Punctuality – 20 mins grace period is given for attendance, after that I WILL mark you as LATE. This time I will handle the attendance sheet.

• Assignments – All assignments to be completed on time. Late assignments will be penalised. This time, I will not bother reminding all of you of your deadlines. Write them down, or tattoo them!

• Participation in class – 5% of your overall marks for this course. In case you feel 5% is peanuts, let me remind you – 5% can upgrade (or downgrade) your entire grade. If you plan to be quiet and unresponsive, you may wave goodbye to this free piece of pie.

• Communication Tools – Come and see me and Ms Lina PERSONALLY in the office if you have any questions to ask. We’re not really fussy about consultation hours so, feel free to come anytime! Alternatively, you can email me at yogeethahj@ucsi.edu.my or Ms Lina at roslinalatif@ucsi.edu.my.
